Body Modifications: Ultimate Freak-Show or Self-Expression?

I was recently watching a show on National Geographic about people that modify their bodies for various reasons, including (but not limited to) piercings, tattooing, scarring, tongue splitting, silicon "horn" implants, tattooing of the eye, ear-cutting, teeth-filing, etc. Some of those people are...a little bit out there, to say the least. There are those people that go that extra mile with their obsession with, say, lizards, leopards, demons, etc. that they wish to "become" ...

What should Music do for a Listener?

OK, so I'm doing an English project on a not-very-well-known instrumental band (Dysrhythmia) and my partner and I are supposed to explain what the message the song is trying to tell. However, we believe that this kind of progressive-metal/fusion jazz mixture does not convey a message, but rather conveys an emotion, be it intrigue, disgust, paranoia, nonchalant, annoyed, etc.
My question to you is this: Should music convey a message, portray an emotion, or a little bit of both?

Book Covers

Has anyone thought on book covers for their own books? I've been thinking about mine, doing a bit of brainstorming, but not much else. Are you guys going to be creating it yourself when (if) the book's finished, or are you going to search for a professional artist?

Indigo Children

I said that I would put this up in the near future, so I'm going to stick by my promises and make sure it gets up.

This is quoted from Grey:

"Indigo children, as they are called, are thought

to be at a higher state of evolution than others. They are

characterized as being unusually sensitive, empathetic, creative and

intellectually gifted than their peers, and are also more physically

symmetrical. The majority of people between the ages of 14 and 25 are

thought to be indigo ...
